I believe that one of the most proud investments I have ever made is within travel. It is such a euphoric feeling to discover new places and soak up the culture. I think as a kid, my mom was really good at doing monthly trips and exposing me to new places and cultures. This post is long overdue, but I wanted to highlight some of the fun from my trip to Ojai Valley a couple weeks ago.
It’s been a while since I had a Mom x Son Trip since I’ve been traveling so much and have been so busy with life. So mom and I hopped into the car to drive to Ojai Valley for the annual Lavender Festival. It’s a quaint little town with not a lot to do, but the central park hosted a lavender festival that literally had everything lavender – lavender soap, clothes, bundles, candles, spray, lemonade, desserts, art, you name it, they had it. Really trippy. They also had lavender margaritas at the Mexican restaurant we went to!
Some other cool things were meditation point, where you could see all of Ojai (it’s not that big) and then this cool book shop called Bart’s Books. Definitely a weekend getaway, but it was fun! There was also this shop called Fig, which was very hipster but will go down as one of my favorite shops ever with air plants, natural cotton wreaths and other hipster knick-knacks.
Oh hiiiii, Ojai.
